Millmerran – 2018 FLYER

FORMING THE RELATIONSHIP

This is where it all begins, learn the 7 games and start to think like a horse. Ever looked at life from your horse’s point of view.  These are the games that horses play with each other. Horses are the ultimate prey animals. That is how they have managed to survive for millions of years. Humans are the ultimate predators. For a horse to be able to perform at it’s best, they must feel safe, then comfort, then they will play and eat. If a horse does not feel safe its instincts to survive will kick in, which is flight from fear. When horses are scared they are not worried about being hurt, rather they are worried about being killed, this is when their self-preservation is at its strongest and they will do whatever they need to do to survive. In this action both horses and humans can be hurt or even killed. Horses live only in the moment and once they are feeling safe again they do not hold any grudges unlike the human who can become emotional and react out of anger or revenge. Learn how horses think, act and play and you will be able to understand how to help your horse so they stay calm, confident and connected. Come start a Relationship and develop a partnership. Parelli is way more than riding. There is nothing you can’t do once your horse becomes a part of you. This is a level 1/2 Ground skills (online) & Level 2 Riding Skills (Freestyle).

NATURAL RIDER

Why do some riders look like they were born in the saddle? Simple, they ride naturally. Watch your horse in the pasture and you will see poetry in motion as they play and move with ease. Once we understand how and where our horses need us to be, we can start to understand what we need to do in our bodies to help them move like nature intended. We must learn to feel of, feel for and feel together.  Take the brace out of our bodies and they will take it from theirs. Finding harmony with your horse’s movement will help them seek it from you. Teach them to follow a feel and a suggestion, learn just how important your rein positions are and use your legs more effectively. In this course you will learn EFFECTIVE carrot stick riding and just like their mothers, you will learn to push your horse and not pull. Does your horse truly understand pressure? Do they respond with respect and without fear? We will cover footfalls, diagonals and understanding leads. Learn how horses think, act & play. Develop your independent feet and seat. Use the natural power of focus, not just a destination but have an overall picture of the results you want to achieve.

This is a level 2/3(for riders who have past level 1, officially or self assessed) Online & Freestyle Riding course/camp. 4 half days $550 (afternoons) bonus free audit of Level 1/2 Forming the Partnership (mornings). Students who want to have proper preparation, make the most of the 4 days, attend both courses and save $100.

All camping with power included, Horse yards provided.

14th May – 18th May 2018 (Max. 12 Students)

Respect IMPULSION Flexion – Mental Emotional & Physical fitness.

Impulsion – developing emotional fitness does your WHOA equal your GO? Pat asks us; when you pick up the reins, does anything change? Or more interestingly when you put down your reins does your horse stay connected to you. Does it take 4 ounces to Whoa and 4 ounces to Go? Develop your horse’s impulsion by learning some simple exercises and know which patterns help suit your horse’s emotional state. Understand when & why your horse has taken off and taken over. Keep it simple for you and your horse, by making some simple changes to how you play the game.

This 5 day camp is $1250.00. Includes tuition, camping with power & full use of Coolibah’s facilities. Secure horse yard provided.

Developing Harmony – Welcome to a new Level

of understanding to becoming a Horseman. Go beyond opposition reflex to positive reflex. Positive Reflex means “without Hesitation” Nothing takes more than 4 ounces… you could do ground skills with an elastic band! Great results achieved in Level 1 and early level 2 must not be allowed to stagnate. Horses get bored without progress. Being predictable causes disrespect from your horse and delayed response. When riding your horse responds without hesitation forwards, backwards, sideways, up and down. Sounds like the perfect horse… no resistance. How do you get a horse to feel like this? Welcome to a new level & understanding, this camp will raise the respect system and works on impulsion. The goal is HARMONY.

UNDERSTANDING THE THREE PHASES TO A SESSION.

RESPECT & WARM UP (Warm up online or at Liberty & sometimes in the saddle)

TEACHING PHASE (Could be on the ground or in the saddle)

WARM DOWN. (This is valuable time with your horse, invest it WITH them)

Now you have tasted the sweet feeling of having a horse join with you as a partner. Its fun to go on and see how much more you can do! I am becoming more and more insistent about a well-rounded approach to becoming a Horseman. There are 4 Savvys. If you are short in any, it’s like uneven legs on a chair.

BECOME GOOD ENOUGH TO HELP HORSES REACH THEIR POTENTIAL, BECOME A HORSEMAN!

Level 2/3 – $1250 5 Days includes tuition, camping & horse yards provided.
