Welcome to the Partnership Level!
We Welcome you to a special program of learning and development with horses, a way to develop a better relationship with your horse. Through the Parelli Natural Horsemanship Levels Program you can develop your skills as a horseman, to become an accomplished handler and rider. you can develop a depth of savvy so outstanding that not only will be obvious to others but will be respected and appreciated by your horse.
Before you Start, ask yourself these two questions:
- Am I prepared to improve myself mentally, emotionally and physically?
- Am I prepared to accept that the horse is perfect and that it is my responsibility to learn how to get along with him?
This program is a self development program. it teaches you how to become more mentally, emotionally and physically fit so you are good enough to gain a horse’s respect. Most of us have been told or shown by example that the horse is wrong, that he is the one that has to make all the changes, but this is where natural horsemanship is so different. The horse has feelings, thought, emotionally and needs. They are not motorbikes! The horse also has nothing invested in making you feel good so in this way is very real mirror of your level of expertise.
If the goal is to improve your relationship, to have a happy, responsive, willing, performing horse, this program will teach you how to achieve this, over and over again, by teaching you the skills you need to bring this out in a horse. Who do you have to become in order to be able to achieve this in a horse?
Becoming a horseman is one of the most challenging and rewarding ventures you could ever undertake with a horse. It requires so much more than just becoming a good rider. A horseman know and understands horses inside and out.
Are you willing to do what it take: Do you think you have enough stick-to-it-ness in your character to reach these horsemanship goals? Can you make it through the challenges, the tick and the tin with your horse without blaming him? We’re only human but if we can dedicate yourselves to this you’ll find that not only do you become better with horses but you’ll develop incredible patience, an easy going unflappable manner, and you’ll no longer become frustrated… you’ll be fascinated by the process of playing with horses. many of our students tell us how much there’s new found qualities also improve their personal and business relationships, never underestimate the power of emotional fitness!
Level 1 Partnership
Most people keep just this side of trouble with heir horses because they don’t really ask them to do very much. Once you start asking is when you find out just how much respect your horse has or doesn’t have for you.
Level 1 therefore is about earning a horses respect. The word respect has synonyms like admiration, esteem, courtesy, service, honour, reverence, love and consideration.
The question is how to earn this respect. Pat teaches us firstly to think like a horse, to break down the prey-predator barrier and to learn to communicate much like another horse. This first part involves the use of body language and learning to play the same games horses play with each other to establish leadership in their pecking order.
The second part involves transferring the communication and respect earned on the ground to the horse’s back. The foundations of natural riding dynamics are form where you learn to be in the right position to cause the horse to understand and respond.
Level 1 helps you to overcome opposition reflex* both in yourself and in the horse. Compliance and ease become a natural part of your relationship. Now you are ready to ask for more from yourself and from your horse.
*Opposition reflex is a self defensive reaction. In horses it elects the fight or flight mechanism and in humans it causes them to fight or to retreat into the fatal position!
As you progress through the levels you will start to appreciate more and more the importance of the foundations. This is what Level 1 is, a solid foundation. AS Pat has often said, get square one right and carry it with you. You will find that every level is an extension of Level 1, and whenever you get into trouble, you just work back through the 7 Games and there’s your diagnostic and solutionary system.

Partnership Course/Camp Details…..
*This is a Level 1/2 2 day Parelli Natural Horsemanship Course. No prerequisites for this course, come along and join me soon! or If you would like to attend a Harmony course be familiar with the 7 games, by purchasing Level 1 Online (see below).
*Equipment needed for this camp: 12foot Lead Rope & Horseman’s Halter, Carrot Stick & Horseman’s String. Horseman’s bridle with Horseman’s reins or Natural Hackamore (or whatever you have usually been riding in) Saddle & Saddle Pad.
David carries some of Pat’s essential equipment with him for sale, if there is some equipment you know you would like to purchase, please feel free to let David know prior to the course start date.
